Today, I went to a company named Align with my teacher, two seniors and teammates to have a requirement interview. Align was launched in 1984 for producing carbon brush motors. In 1995, they started to develop vacuum cleaner which can be used in both dry and wet situation and collaborated with Japanese company HITACHI and TOSHIBA. Later on, Align expanded its techniques to the remote-control operations and opened up its global territory by remote-control helicopters, which have got more than 70% market share all over the world.

The reason we have the opportunity to attend to the interview is our experiences in developing apps. Our teacher gave out a speech about apps development last week and met the execute vice president, who has a strong willing to develop an app for their company. It was a special experience to me not only for the first time to attend a requirement interview but also the first time I get in touch with the remote-control helicopters.
In the interview, they shared some problems they got and discussed the solution with us. Generally, I think having an app could indeed serve their numerous customers better. The problem they got can be sort to two categories. One is the confusing design on the website which spends users more time to search for what they want. The other is they do not have the skills to set up an app yet.

What I gained in this interview are as follow. First, the way a consulter think and talk to the company. We need to learn how to communicate with those who are not good at computer. Besides, it is a taboo that we disagree with what they bring up, which is another challenge since their thought would not be always right. Second, your boss could ask you to do something you think is not that important. If so, just do it or the boss will keep that in mind and remind you all the time. Third, I really got so many knowledge about remote-control helicopters, not only the way players play but also the price, how the products go, the newest technologies implemented in helicopters. I would like to try it if I become rich one day. It was a hard to come by experience that I would like to go through.
